Shiloh Farms Pitted Prunes, Organic

Unsulphered, unsweetened, and pitted*, SHILOH FARMS Prunes are as tasty as they are nutritious! Considered one of best sources of dietary fiber, prunes are also naturally rich in potassium, iron, phosphorus, magnesium, and B Vitamins.

To Rehydrate: Simmer fruit in small amount of water or fruit juice approximately 15 minutes, or until tender. Alternately, soak in water or fruit juice in refrigerator for 8 hours or overnight. Save and use the rehydrating liquid in recipes calling for fruit juice.

Suggestions: 
1. Substitute chopped prunes for raisins or other dried fruits in trail mixes, breads, muffins, cookies, and other baked goods.
2. Delicious with braised poultry, beef, or lamb.
3. Puree soaked prunes with skim milk and spices.
4. Chop and add to cereal, salads, pilaf's, or yogurt.
5. Stuffed pitted prunes with nut butters, cream cheese, or goat cheese and serve as a snack.

Storage: As this product contains no preservatives, sugaring is possible. This is a natural process in which sugar crystals form on the outside of the fruit and can be accelerated by warm conditions. To reduce sugaring and maximize shelf life, we recommend storing prunes in an airtight container in your refrigerator. If sugaring does occur, it can be washed off in warm water prior to consumption.
