Allie's Awesome Buckwheat Pancakes Baking Mix
Buckwheat, in the rhubarb family, is a wonderful gluten-free alternative way to increase the fiber and protein in your diet. These light gluten-free pancakes have a delicious flavor and are named for my niece, Allie, who devours them. Kids and adults will have no idea they're eating something a little healthier. This gluten-free mix can also be used to make pumpkin pancakes, double chocolate chip pancakes, banana pancakes, and double chocolate chip pancakes. Yields 20 large pancakes.
Ingredients - rice flour, buckwheat flour, tapioca starch, brown rice flour, sugar, baking soda, aluminum-free corn-free baking powder (sodium acid pyrophosphate, baking soda, tapioca starch, monocalcium phosphate), salt, niacin (Vitamin B3), reduced iron, calcium carbonate, thiamin mononitrate (Vitamin B1), folic acid (Vitamin B9), riboflavin (Vitamin B2)

Dec 17th 2019It was just okay - not enough buckwheat flavor for me. I like true buckwheat taste and this was very shy of that taste. I tried the waffles also. I do not think I will order it again.

Aug 14th 2018I feel like making them yourself may be healthier, but this brand is great (brownie mix) and they were pretty good. I probably wouldn't buy again because I would prefer to make them myself. But if you are looking for a good mix, this is it!

Mar 26th 2015Before going GF, we enjoyed buckwheat waffles most Sundays. While these are not as "buckwheaty" as the non-GF mix, they are still excellent. So far, the best GF waffle mix we've tried (out of about 5 different brands). And does not stick to the waffle iron, even without oil.

May 15th 2014These were not great. I found them too sweet, and the flavour and texture were unappealing. Ended up throwing the rest of the mix out. Making them from scratch adds very little work, and are so much better than this mix.

Oct 14th 2013These are pretty good. They're a little dry but I only made them once so might need to tweak the recipe a bit. I made them for my boyfriend and he couldn't tell the difference. I will definitely buy them again!
